Description
Large vase given to Quebec actrice Estelle Maufette for her crowning of Miss Radio 1942. Prize that she received for her role as Donalda in the Radio Novel named "Un Homme et son Peche" that she played along side Hector Charland in the role of Seraphin her husband. Radio series taken from the book by the same name written by Claude Henri Grignon in 1938.
The vase was crafted by Raymond Lewis who was a teacher/pioneer potter in Quebec and one of the founders of the Ceramique de Beauce. On one side we can see Donalda in her kitchen and on the other side Seraphin counting his gold coins. A great historic piece for the French Canadian culture and its craftsmanship.
