Catalogue Note
During the mid-20th century, Charlotte Perriand drew extensively on traditional Savoyard furniture forms in her alpine commissions, reinterpreting rustic milking stools and regional vernacular pieces through a modernist lens. Simple three-legged stools in solid wood became emblematic of this dialogue between modern design and traditional craft.
The present stools reflect this alpine aesthetic in their scale, proportions, and material expression. Comparable examples of similar form repeatedly appear under Perriand attribution. .
