Description
Small Inuit carving depicting a family group of three geese arranged in procession atop a bone base. The birds are finely carved with smooth, rounded forms and inset dark eyes, the largest figure leading two smaller birds behind in a naturalistic grouping.
The figures are mounted on a naturally curved section that serves as a base and evokes the contours of tundra or ice. The piece is attributed to Jacqueline of Pelly Bay (Kugaaruk), Nunavut, a community known for refined miniature carvings.
