Description

A Japanese lacquered jingasa (samurai hat), of circular form with gently domed profile, finished in black lacquer and decorated with finely executed gilt wave motifs around the rim. The interior retains remnants of its original padded suspension lining, now worn, along with traces of its mounting structure. A red lacquered underside with a gilt mon (crest) adds visual contrast, suggesting use within a samurai or attendant context.
