Description
A Chinese cast bronze figure of Guanyin, approximately Ming dynasty (1368-1644).
The deity seated in dhyanasana with the right hand raised, the left hand holding a cup, attired in flowing robes, and pendant jewels, crowned by an elaborate headdress centered on a figure of Amitabha.
Pose: The deity is depicted seated in dhyanasana (meditation pose) with flowing robes and pendant jewels.
Hand Gestures: The right hand is often raised in a mudra, while the left hand holds a vessel or cup containing the "nectar of life".
Crown: The figure wears an elaborate, high phoenix crown.
Some old losses to figure, missing objects.
Measuring 12 inches H x 7 W x 5.5 deep.
