Cawthra Mulock (Canadian, 1915-1998) framed black and white linocut print of a detailed cityscape, depicting a church or cathedral. Signed lower right, numbered 3/35. Measuring 6.25 inches H x 8.5 W within matting, frame measures 10.5 x 12.5 inches.
Cawthra Mulock (1915-1998) was a Canadian modernist painter and printmaker known for his abstract compositions, mid-century ink-and-graphite works, and linocut prints. Educated in Munich and active in the Toronto art scene, he taught at the Art Gallery of Ontario and exhibited internationally, including in London. His art often blended geometric, rhythmic, and, in some cases, figural elements.
