Large, Rare Meakin Art Nouveau Jug with Amethyst Art Nouveau Lombardy Design
Description
The Lombardy pattern water jug in amethyst (purple) transfer print is a rare and highly sought-after variation of the more common flow blue version. Produced by J and G Meakin of Hanley, England, it dates to the peak of the Art Nouveau movement, approximately 1900-1920.
The design is characterized by stylized amethyst daffodils and elegant, sinuous Art Nouveau lines picked out in gold. Measuring 12 inches H x 10 W. With
