Victorian Brass and Green Marble Bank Counter or Desk, circa 1870
Description
An English Victorian-style bank counter or desk featuring a tubular brass frame with spherical joints and ball finials. The rectangular top is inset with a dark green variegated marble slab, identified as Verde Antique, characterized by prominent white veining. The structure includes a raised back rail and is supported by four columnar legs. The legs terminate in circular, tiered feet connected by flat horizontal stretchers. Measuring 43 inches H x 37 W x 16 deep, 32 inches counter height.
