Large Collection of Antique French and Italian Hand Painted Porcelain Apothecary Jars with lids.
Material: Ceramic/porcelain with hand-painted enamel and gilt details.
Design: Each jar is adorned with naturalistic motifs such as palm trees or flowers, along with a Latin inscription detailing its contents (e.g., GUMMI GUTTE, CALOMEL).
Function: Historically used in pharmacies for storing medicine, they are now highly decorative collectibles.
Condition: Some loss to gilding, some chips, one lid completely replaced, one finial reglued on small pair of vanity jars
Largest jars measure 10 inches H x 5 W, two jars with cork lids measure 6 inches H x 3.5 W, marked Made in Italy.
