Description
Pair of French floral still-life Aesthetic Movement mounted vases, Barbotine majolica vases.
They were created around the 1870s and 1880s. Some chips and restorations, measuring 14 inches H x 9 W.
They display the strong influence of majolica, Impressionism, and the fad for Japanese-influenced works that were popular at the time.
The vases feature hand-crafted and hand-painted three-dimensional roses and leaves and stand on bronze mounts decorated with Asian elements.
