Religious relic of Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys, from the time of her beatification in 1950.
B. Marguerite Bourgeoys was the first female saint of Canada, who was born in France in 1620 and was Montreal’s first teacher.
The "B." in the text indicates that the item likely dates from after her beatification by Pope Pius XII in 1950.
Housed in a small, ornate, circular reliquary holder, measuring approx. 2 inches.
Marguerite Bourgeoys was canonized as a saint by Pope John Paul II in 1982.
