Japanese Bamboo Ikebana Vase, also known as a hanakago or okizutsu. The natural grain of the bamboo has aged to a warm, honeyed tone, and it is displayed on a carved wooden base. Japan, dating to the mid-20th century (Showa era) or earlier. 

Measuring: 12 inches H x 5 W, presented on a wood tray measuring 12 x 7.5 W inches.
Material: Hand-crafted from a single length of mature bamboo, including the root segments at the base. 
Function: Used for traditional Japanese flower arranging (ikebana). 
Aesthetic: Appreciated for its natural form, grain, and the patina that develops with age.
