Chinese Archaic Hongshan Style Jade Mask Pendant
Carved from pale celadon to creamy-white jade with russet and ochre surface staining, the pendant is worked in the form of a stylized human face with drilled eyes, a pronounced nose ridge, and parted lips. The reverse is hollowed, showing tool marks and mineral accretions. The sides are further decorated with faint scroll motifs. Suspension hole to the top, the pendant is fitted with a modern cord and bead for wear.

This type of mask pendant recalls jade carvings from the Hongshan culture (c. 3500-2500 BCE) and early dynastic China, often associated with ritual or amuletic use.
