Lino Sabattini Modernist Chrome Two Stick Candlestick, Signed on stem. Measuring 12 inches H x 5 W x 5 deep. Lino Sabattini (Italian, 1925-2016) was a prominent, self-taught Italian silversmith and designer, celebrated as a leading figure in Italian modernism.
Born in Correggio, Italy, his career in metalworking began at age 14 in a local brass workshop, where he gained practical experience. In 1955, Sabattini established a small workshop in Milan and quickly met his idol, the architect and designer Gio Ponti (founder of Domus magazine). Ponti was impressed and helped launch Sabattini’s career onto the international stage by commissioning, exhibiting, and publishing his work.
