Native American Carved Wood Pipe Stem
Plains or Eastern Woodlands, 19th-Early 20th Century
Carved hardwood pipe stem with circular bowl socket, drilled side draft hole, and a small pierced lug for securing decorative elements or bindings. The tapering mouth end shows smooth wear and rich patina. Originally fitted with a removable pipestone or clay bowl. A well-preserved example of a personal-use pipe stem from the Plains or Eastern Woodlands tribal regions.
Length: approx. 7.25 in.
Condition: Age-related wear, surface patina, minor losses; bowl missing.
