John A. Hammond (Canadian, 1843 – 1939) Oil on Board, Dawn, Bay of Fundy 1912. Signed, titled and dated on verso, signed lower right, measures 12 inches H x 18 W. Loss to upper right corner of board, restored chip to lower centre. John Astley Hammond was a prominent Canadian painter, photographer, printmaker, and art educator known for his dramatic landscapes and seascapes.
