Description
Original Offset Proof Chromalin Photogravure After Steve McCurry.
A rare, vintage Chromalin-type photogravure proof produced using traditional offset printing techniques, based on the original image by renowned photographer Steve McCurry. This manually crafted proof was created by a professional photogravure specialist as a unique trial print, used exclusively for color correction and pre-press validation prior to final production. It reflects a now-obsolete, artisanal stage of the offset printing process.
This previously unpublished proof was discovered in the archives of a retired master photogravure printer, carefully preserved flat in a light-protected envelope deep within a mounting workshop. Despite its age, the proof has remained in excellent overall condition.
Recto (front): immaculate, with vivid color and striking gloss.
Verso (back): minor smudges and handling marks from the print technician, consistent with its working origin.
A remarkable collectible for admirers of McCurry’s work or the history of fine photomechanical printing.
