Victorian Sterling Gold Washed Vinaigrette Edward Smith
Description
English Victorian sterling silver finely shaped vinaigrette, the front and back with machine worked design, the edges and sides with engraved scroll motif, the inside gold washed with the open work cover of a fancy scroll design, showing British hallmarks for Edward Smith, Birmingham, England, no date later is shown but operated his business till about 1865 so this would date the piece to the 1840s- 50s periodweighs 28 grams, 1.5 inches L x 1.25 W.
