Viennese August Klein 1906 Leather Gilt Portfolio
1906 Viennese August Klein Enamel and Leather Portfolio With central gilt bronze and guilloche enamel monogram flanked by the dates 1871 and 1906, further decorated with 2 watercolours, bronze floral sprays and floral enamel borders, the interior silk lined. Signed with embossed August Klein, Wien. Graben, No. 20. Antique condition with some staining and discolouration. Measures 16 inches H x 12 W. August Klein was a Viennese bookbinder and leather worker who established a business in 1847 that expanded into high-quality metal and wood wares.
