Murano Glass Fountain Gino Cenedese (Attrib.)
An important brass, granite and Murano glass fountain attributed to the Studio of Gino Cenedese (ca. 1950). It is composed of a central plinth decorated by Murano glass leaves, supporting a vasque of glass foliage around a central vase. There are numerous water jets and a mechanism for alternating color lighting. The central vasque is surrounded by three Murano glass figures (there was likely a fourth which was lost to time but remains unnoticeable). These fountains were masterpieces requiring tremendous skill and typically only made for special commissions, with no two forms being the same. This unique fixture stands at approx. 48"h x 27"w and is completely made of mouth blown Murano crystal pieces. LED lights have been added, pump and plumbing untested.
