Antique Rare Sri Lankan Buddha Kandyan Dynasty
Antique Rare Sri Lankan Gilt Bronze Seated Buddha Shakyamuni, Possibly Early Kandyan Dynasty. Seated in a meditative pose with downcast, introspective eyes, with Ushnisha (A protuberance on the head, symbolizing spiritual development) and long, stretched earlobes from wearing heavy earrings as a prince. Garments are draped with intricate folds, traces of original gilding. 8.5 inches W x 12 H x 4.5 deep. Very heavy!
