Antique engraving depicting a view of the Pierced Island, a remarkable rock in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence in Quebec. Published in 1764 and created by P.C. Canot based on a drawing by Hervey Smyth and a composition by Francis Swaine. The engraver is likely Edward Rooker Senior. Measures approx 12 x 8 inches and framed to 17 x 13.5 inches. Provenance: A Dutch family collection that moved to Montreal in the 1920s.
