Pericles Pantazis (1849-1884) Le Liseur Painting

Pericles Pantazis (Athens 1849 – 1884 Brussels) Painting on wood board, signed Pericles Pantazis depicting a monk purported to be Le Liseur which is listed in a catalogue note of his works from the Koninklijk Museum in Antwerp. It is 23 x 18 inches. On the back is a label from A.J.E Van den Bogaert in Antwerp from who it was acquired. The work depicts a hermit reading in the style of the Dutch golden age. Provenance: A Dutch family collection.
