Engraving titled View of Cape Rouge above the City of Quebec on the shore of the river St. Lawrence created for Middleton’s Complete System of Geography. It may depict the landing of troops before the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in 1759. It was published in 1777-1778. Approx 12 x 8 inches framed to 17 x 13.5 inches. Provenance: A Dutch family collection that moved to Montreal in the 1920s.
