Edo Era Japanese Samurai Daimyo Armour
Superb Edo era (1603-1868) original Daimyo Japanese armor. The helmet is a Eboshi kabuto, all iron with Kebiki lacing, a very high grade lacing. The hanpo, or face mask, is the same. The front decoration is a Oni Shigami demon head Maedate. The cuirass, or Dou, is iyozane kiritsuke ni Mai dou. A surcoat, or Jinbaori, is worn by the samurai. This sleeveless coat is worn against the elements and as a display of status. This one , made out of linen, is decorated with dragonfly, a symbol of courage and victory for a samurai. There is a crest in the back, a Mon, or Kamon, of a stylized paulownia, the Mon of the Toyotomi clan, now used as the enablement of the Imperial family. No black base included, no Hitsu armor box included.
