Victorian Sterling Armorial Chafing Warming Dish
Very unique Victorian English sterling silver chafing or warming dish, the round dish with a domed lid surmounted by an arm clutching a curved arrow, the dish with an inset interior handled bowl that is silver plate, the lid and base are sterling, the lid and base hallmarked Queen’s head, lion passant, makers initials GRC for George Richmond Collis, anchor mark for Birmingham assay office and date cypher J for 1858, the silver plate inset also hallmarked and also on base stamped G.R. Collins and Co. 130 Regent St. London, which was a company showroom, total weight of sterling elements 1,162 grams, total weight of dish 1,800 grams. 12 inches W including the handles x 7 H including finial.
