Attr Keith Haring Subway Chalk Drawing Black Paper
White chalk on black paper drawing, attributed to Keith Haring, as part of the subway series executed and pasted in situ around the subways of New York in the early to mid-1980s. The work depicts a series of figures free-falling into a hole. The piece, as all such pieces, is unsigned. Approximately 99cm x 70cm irregular on ripped paper with glue residues on the reverse. Presented in a floating black box-frame. ?Provenance: An NYC collection. Accompanied by the exhibition catalog from the Keith Haring Future Primeval Subway Graffiti show, signed one of the curators. Keith Haring: Future Primeval, held in 1991, the year after Keith’s death was the first major survey in the United States of the artist’s paintings, drawings, and sculptures from 1979 to 1985.
