Framed Napoleon Bonaparte Hair Strand 1817
Framed strand of Napoleon Bonaparte’s hair cut during his imprisonment on St. Helena, traced back to July 4th, 1817. It was taken by his surgeon Dr. Barry O’Meara. O’Meara then gave the hair to Major R.P. Boys. This lot was created with a strand taken from a larger lot sold at an auction at Sotheby’s and was authenticated by Louis Mushro of the Manuscript Society as such. Frame measures 12.5 x 10 inches.
