Tellem People Carved Wood Head Rest Africa Mopti, region (Republika Mali); The Tellem are indigenous people who inhabited the Bandiagara Escarpment located in the south-central part of the Republic of Mali before the arrival of the Dogon. The Tellem used the bolsters as head rests and also in burial rites. Approximately 26 cm wide, 6 inches H x 10 W x 3 deep. Phillips London provenance.
