Antique japanese Tansu Suzuri Bako Chest

Antique Japanese suzuri bako chest or writing box. One compartment serves as a bank, with a slot on top to collect coins. Another compartment is to store ink and brushes, and two drawers completes this tansu. Nice old patina, beautiful forged iron hardware and handles enhance this beautiful piece of Japanese history. Circa end of 18th century. 12 inches L x 8.5 W x 10 H.
