Japanese Red Lacquer Zushi Travel Buddhist Shrine
Antique Japanese Red Lacquer Zushi Traveling Buddhist Shrine / Altar. Carved wood with gold and red lacquer. Two Buddhas in gassho mudra seated on lotus flank a central pagoda-shaped stele above a stepped, elaborately crafted gilt pedestal. Some restorations, minor loss to lacquer. Shrine measures 14 inches H x 10 W x 7.5 deep.
