Antique Japanese Samurai Iron and Lacquer Fan. Used by high grade samurai to give orders as well as signs on the battlefield. Also used as a personal weapon once closed, where high grade samurai or daimyo would gather where no swords were allowed. Made of sturdy iron and paper, Japanese lacquer. Beautiful red sun. Opened, measures 18 inches W x 11 H.
