Antique Japanese Samurai Naginata Nihonto
Early Edo period naginata nihonto in shirasaya (white sheath scabbard). The blade is in minty condition, 24 inches (61 cm) total length. The cutting edge is 12.5 inches (31.75 cm). The tang is signed on both sides. Swordsmith unknown. The hamon is present the length of the blade through the kissaki (tip of blade) where it ends in a midare boshi. The blade has bo-hi, or fullers running on both sides of the blade. The shirasaya in in good condition.
