Antique Japanese Samurai Wakizashi W/ Kogotana
Very nice wakizashi with kogatana(small knife). The blade, mumei or unsigned, is in excellent condition with a very nice hamon. The samurai mountings, or koshirae, are outstanding and features a very high gloss finish and a high-quality Japanese lacquer. The tsuba is iron with gold inserts, the kogatana is copper with a nice nature scene. Based on the workmanship, shape, and quality of this blade, the sword was likely made in the early to mid-Edo period (1650-1750). Blade measures 17.5 inches L to hilt, handle measures 6.75 inches L, scabbard measures 19 inches, 25.75 inches L in total. Kogotana measures 8.25 inches L, signed on blade. Please note, stand is not included.
