Description
THE SIMON CHANG COLLECTION – Chinese antique court sash or belt – panel, intricately and finely hand embroidered showing two dueling five-claw imperial dragons chasing a flaming pearl in the centre set above roaring waves, with various other symbols and bats and kesi weave parallel lines along the bottom, dragons done in gold thread with blue highlights, bound in later gold brocade edge and set in modern lacquer wood frame with double sided glass and smokey colouring on the upper half, the belt Qing dynasty 19th century. Belt measures 10 inches H x 48.5 W, frame measures 20.5 inches H x 56.5 W.
