Description
THE SIMON CHANG COLLECTION – A unique Chinese antique child’s dog head hat of black satin with silk hand embroidered brightly coloured floral designs with birds and insects, the sides with padded pointed ears and with a short back flap to keep the neck warm, the dog head hat was to fool spirits into thinking that the child was an animal and thus of little value, circa late Qing late 19th century – early 20th century. Measuring 8 inches W x 9.5 L.
