The Holy Family beneath the Apple Tree
Antique engraving after Rubens’ celebrated composition depicting the Virgin and Child seated beneath an apple tree, accompanied by Saint Elizabeth, the infant Saint John the Baptist, Saint Joseph, and attendant figures. Richly engraved with strong contrasts of light and shadow, the print reflects the Baroque master’s dynamic treatment of religious subjects and remained a popular composition among engravers from the 17th century onward.
Sheet size: 28 × 19 cm.
