Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print titled Matsuchiyama: Iwai Kumesaburo III as Miuraya Agemaki, designed by the master printmaker Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) in 1852 as part of his series Pictures of Famous Places in Edo (Edo meisho zue). Featuring kabuki actor Iwai Kumesaburo III portraying the courtesan Agemaki of the Miuraya house, set against a scenic backdrop of Matsuchiyama. The print appears to be painted on silk and has been cut out of it’s original matting and reframed. Image measures 9 inches H x 7 W, frame measures 18 x 15 inches.
