Description
Chinese School, Early 20th Century Carved Figure of Budai
Finely carved figure depicting Budai (Hotei), the Laughing Buddha, seated and smiling while holding a double gourd symbolizing longevity. The figure is carved with beaded necklaces and engraved details highlighted with black pigment. The underside bears an incised maker’s mark and retains three metal mounting pins to affix it to the included wood base.
Height: 3 in. (7.6 cm) excluding wood base.
