A bronze sculpture of a reclining goat attributed to Louis-Theophile Hingre (French, 1832-1911), a prominent French animalier sculptor known for his detailed wildlife and livestock figures. Signed HINGRE on base.
Louis-Theophile Hingre was a specialist in animal sculpture, a modeler, and a medal engraver. He was highly active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris from 1860 to 1910.
