David Messer (1912-1999) was an acclaimed international artist of Polish-Israeli-French descent, best known for his surrealistic and expressive figural paintings. Born in Poland, he immigrated to Palestine at age 12 and later served in the British Army during WWII before moving to Paris in 1955. There, he spent 40 years establishing himself as a significant figure in the art world, often hosting famous Israeli artists in his studio.
