Description

An antique brass field or student microscope, c. late 19th to early 20th century. 

It typically features a telescoping eyepiece tube for magnification and a small mirror for illuminating specimens. 
These portable instruments were designed for naturalists and students to use outside of a traditional laboratory setting. 
The microscope often comes with a fitted wooden carrying case for protection during transport. 
Dimensions: 6 inches L, box measures 7 x 3 x 2 inches.
