Description

A 19th-century Chinese export sewing table or work table featuring black lacquer with gilt chinoiserie decoration. 


Design & Decoration: Black lacquer Chinoiserie decorated with elaborate gilt (gold) scenes of figures, architecture, and landscapes. 
Construction: sarcophagus-shaped top with a hinged lid that opens to reveal a fitted interior with small compartments and lidded canisters for sewing tools and baluster supports.
Dimensions: 31 H x 12 deep x 18 inches W.
Condition: Some loss to table, lid is not attached properly.
