Thomas Hilton Garside (Canadian, 1906-1980) Oil on Canvas, Winter Landscape, probably Mont Tremblant, Quebec.


Artist: Thomas Hilton Garside (Canadian, 1906-1980). 
Subject Matter: A winter or early spring landscape featuring a river with melting ice, evergreens, and distant mountains. 
Garside was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) and his work often captures the "break-up" or spring thaw, characterized by the reflection of sky and trees in partially frozen water.
Dimensions: Canvas measures 18 inches H x 24 W, frame measures 33 inches W x 27 H.
