A Victorian-era silver and enamel vesta case (match holder) featuring a painting of the Gordon Highlanders regiment pipers, manufactured by Sampson Morden in London around 1890. 

The scene depicts four pipers in traditional Scottish uniform, possibly based on an artwork by Harry Payne. 
These cases were typically used to hold matches and strike them on a textured surface on the bottom.
Dimensions: 1.75 inches L x 1.25 W.
