Antique French Silver Vermeil Liturgical Chalice, c. 19th century. A sacramental vessel used for the Holy Eucharist in Christian worship featuring a tiered stem, common in Baroque or Neoclassical ecclesiastical design. It consists of three main parts: the cuppa (the cup), the stem, and the flared base.

Materials: Silver gilt (vermeil) and gilded brass 
Decorations: The base and stem are adorned with intricate embossed or engraved patterns, which sometimes include religious symbols or scenes from the life of Christ. Hallmarked S in a lozenge. 
Dimensions: 12 inches H x 6 W at base.
