Description

A ceremonial mining axe (or laska górnicza), associated with KGHM Polska Miedz, a major Polish mining corporation. 


Symbolism: These canes are deeply rooted in Polish mining traditions, such as Barborka (St. Barbara’s Day). The T-shaped handle is modeled after a pyrlik (miner’s hammer) or a stylized axe head, which are historical tools featured in the mining emblem (kupla). 
Design: Features an ebonized or dark wood shaft with a metal handle (often brass or polished steel) and a pointed metal ferrule at the bottom. 
Use: It is used as a parade accessory for mining officials and veterans during formal ceremonies, biesiady (beer feasts), and commemorative marches.
Dimensions: 35 inches L x 5 W.
