Description

A cohesive set of three Victorian woven silk pictures, known as Stevengraphs, depicting sequential fox hunting scenes titled “Full Cry, ” “The Water Jump, ” and “The Finish Point.” Each composition captures a distinct phase of the hunt, from the hounds in active pursuit, to the dramatic leap over water, and finally the culmination of the chase.

Executed in finely woven colored silk threads, the scenes display remarkable detail and movement, with mounted riders in traditional red coats, galloping horses, and hounds rendered with precision. The images are produced using Jacquard loom techniques, characteristic of late 19th-century silk picture production.
Each panel is presented in a gilt frame, forming a visually unified group that reflects both the narrative continuity and decorative appeal of Victorian sporting art.
