A moody watercolour landscape painting by the artist John Kidd Maxton (Scottish, 1878-1942), signed J.K. Maxton. 


John Kidd Maxton was a prolific Scottish landscape artist known for his atmospheric depictions of the Scottish Highlands, often featuring lochs, mountains, and rural valleys. His repertoire includes famous Scottish landmarks like Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness, as well as general Highland loch views often featuring sheep or rocky streams. 
Medium: watercolour and gouache. 
Dimensions: Paper measures 11 x 14.5 inches W within matting, frame measures 21 x 25.5 inches.
