Swat Valley dowry chest, a traditional piece of hand-carved furniture originating from the Swat Valley region in present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan. 


These chests, often called petara, were historically used to store a bride’s dowry, including textiles, jewelry, and other valuables, and served as a central piece of furniture in the home. Featuring four prominent finials (decorative posts) at the corners, and a hinged lid.

Intricate Carvings: They are renowned for their deep, geometric, and floral carvings, often featuring tribal motifs unique to the local valley tribes.
Dimensions: 23 inches W x 20 H x 16 deep.
